WCCS to host Senator Barack Obama

Selma, AL (February 28, 2007) — In conjunction with the 14th Annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee, Senator Barack Obama will be the keynote speaker at "The Martin and Coretta Scott King Beloved Community Unity Breakfast," held on the campus of Wallace Community College Selma, Sunday, March 4, 2007. The breakfast is sponsored by the National Voting Rights Museum and Institute, Wallace Community College Selma, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Zeta Eta Omega Chapter, Inc. and the 21st Century Youth Leadership Movement.

"The late Coretta Scott King participated in every Annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee in Selma. She understood the importance of celebrating our victories and recommitting ourselves to building 'The Beloved Community' for which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his life," Senator Hank Sanders said. He concluded by saying, "Each year we will have this unity breakfast in their honor."

The event begins at 7:30 AM in the WCCS Gymnasium. This event is sold out.
