WCCS Hopes to Resume Winning at Home Opener

Selma, Al. — Wallace Community College Selma Patriots will play their first home games tonight against Meridian Community College. The Lady Patriots tip off at 5:30 and the Patriots follow at 7:30. Both teams expect to avenge their loses to MCC a week ago in Meridian MS.

The Lady Patriots (2-2) loss 67-81 while shooting only 37% from the field. Freshman Vinecia Dudley led all scorers with 14 points. Sophomore Michelle Cottrell and Freshman Shawnese Armstead also reached double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The WCCS Patriots (0-2) lost an overtime thriller against MCC 79-80. The Patriots had three players reach double figures. Brandon Thomas led all scorers with 19, while Tray Williams and Deon President finished with 16 and 10 points, respectively.

On Saturday Nov. 11, the Lady Patriots traveled to Tuscaloosa, AL to play the Shelton State Community College Lady Bucs. The Lady Patriots were defeated 70-108. Shawnese Armstead led all scorers with 30 points.

The Patriots traveled to Boaz, AL and were defeated by Snead State 45-63. Deon President led the Patriots with 13 points.

WCCS hopes to rally the teams with a pep-rally from 12 noon – 1 pm in the gymnasium on campus. After tonight's game, the Lady Patriots face Snead State at home on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 5:30.
