Cynthia Gibson, Writing Center Coordinator

Background: Mrs. Gibson worked as a high school teacher for 12 years before joining the team at Wallace. During that time, she taught in Costa Rica as well as in several schools across America.

Hobbies: Mrs. Gibson loves to write and has been published in an internationally-distributed magazine as well as in a textbook for teachers; she has also helped edit a book about teaching diversity in American classrooms. She loves speaking Spanish and meeting people from other cultures and backgrounds. Mrs. Gibson is a youth leader for a local volunteer group, and she spends much of her hours outside of school volunteering in the community.

Fun fact: When people find out that Mrs. Gibson grew up in Alaska, they often ask if she lived in an igloo. Although she has never seen an igloo except in movies, she did spend much of her childhood camping in the snow, mushing (riding dogsleds), and ice skating at recess.
