WCCS offers a number of E-Learning (Internet Based) courses in several academic disciplines. The content of each of these courses is identical to the content of traditional classroom courses because of requirements established by the Statewide Articulation and Reporting System (STARS), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Therefore, all WCCS E-Learning courses are transferable to senior colleges and universities. Students should refer to the listing of E-Learning course offerings in the schedule of classes.
E-LEARNING EXAM SCHEDULES
Welcome to the Wallace Community College Selma E-Learning. WCCS has migrated to a new learning management system Fall 2016 called Canvas. Canvas will be learning management system used for E-Learning courses at WCCS. Canvas is a cloud-native learning platform and learning management system used by millions of students across the globe. WCCS made this change believing that Canvas would be more user- friendly and the updated features would be more beneficial for faculty and students.
This page will guide you through all of the necessary information needed before beginning any E-Learning course. Your WCCS email format update is provided below as well as technical information you will be need to determine that your computer system is capable of running Canvas. Please review the links below. Make sure that your system is compatible with the information in the links provided below. If not, you may need to update some of your programs or possibly install new programs not currently loaded on your computer. Once you have reviewed the links below and made the necessary changes you should be ready to begin any E-Learning course at WCCS.
All registered students at Wallace Community College Selma, have an assigned WCCS student email address that is used to communicate with instructors, receive alerts, and receive notifications concerning WCCS events.
Your student email account is automatically created the first time you enroll in a course. Please wait approximately two (2) hours after your initial registration to log in to your account.
Your WCCS student email address consists of your last name and student ID number, without the “W”, followed by @student.wccs.edu (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org). If you do not know your student ID number, you may obtain it here: Get Your WCCS Student ID Number.
Your initial password is “Wallace” + the last four digits of your Social Security Number (e.g. Wallace1234).

Your WCCS student email account may be used for personal email however your WCCS email address MUST BE used for all official class correspondence with your instructors. This applies to both classroom and online instruction. Please contact the IT Helpdesk, by calling (334) 876-9416, if you need assistance accessing your account.
