ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE
The Associate in Applied Science degree is awarded to students who complete the requirements of a specific career or professional program outlined in this catalog. These programs may contain no less than 60 and no more than 76 semester credit hours. These programs are designed primarily to prepare students for immediate employment upon graduation from college. Each curriculum contains college level courses which are pertinent to that particular field as well as general education courses intended to provide the student with a well-rounded college education. Although the primary objective of career programs is early job entry with potential for growth in the job, further education in each of these fields is possible after completion of the associate degree. Many senior colleges offer specialized programs leading to the baccalaureate degree, and some credits in these curricula may transfer to such programs.

STANDARD CERTIFICATE
(30-60 Semester Hours)
Standard Certificate programs are career development opportunities designed primarily for students who wish to obtain employable skills in the shortest amount of time possible. Each curriculum contains college level occupational courses which are pertinent to that particular field as well as general education courses intended to the strengthen the student’s basic skills and employability potential.

SHORT CERTIFICATE
(<=26 Semester Hours)
Short Certificate programs are career development opportunities designed primarily to accommodate those students who are already employed and who desire to acquire new skills on a part time basis.
